Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

involvment in education

The GAL report recommends that I am not allowed to be involved in my daughters education (sole decision making to my ex) and not allowed to be at the school gounds and no involvement with teachers. Is it likely that the court will follow the recomendation and ''rob'' me from my parental rights only because the mother asks for it? Is there anything I can do to prevent that from happen??

I have never had any charges of abuse to my child, however the mother has a restraining order against me. As the commissioner encouraged me to get involved I signed up to be volenteer at the school and enjoy helping out very much.

thanks!

Courts take GAL recommendations very seriously. If you do not have an attorney, you should consider getting one now.

The Court will limit your relationship with your child if the court determines that is the best thing for your child.

You can prevent this from happening by lawyering up right now. Please don't wait.

Dear Sir/Madam:

Based on your facts, you may wish to consult an attorney to review the restraining order, and the events that led to such an order.

Thank you.

Respectfully.
