Legal Question in Family Law in Washington
how can i get my kids back?
how can i get custody of my children back? alright, i have two daughters ones 14 and the other is 12 and recently my eldest daughter tried to kill herself. their father is telling them that they'll never come live with me again and he's telling them that they don't have a choice. my 14 year old needs to be with me that way i'll be able to guide her. it doesn't help that my ex's wife is trying to stop my children from making any contact with me. right now i live in an apartment and until i can get a house of my own, my girls will live with my sister and her family and finish up the school year. i would like for them to be with me by Christmas. what can i do?

Re: how can i get my kids back?
I doubt that you can get your children back by Christmas, since the courts move much to slowly for that unless there is a real emergency situation, such as evidence of child abuse or neglect in their current home. You may have grounds for a change of custody, which will require filing a petition with the court and an eventual hearing on the evidence. You should find a competent family law attorney to represent you, since the process is not simple and someone unfamiliar with the law concerning modifications of custody is not likely to be successful.
