leagal divorce while pregnant
Is it legal in the state of Texas for a married couple to get divorced while the wife is pregnant? I have heard that it is not - I guess the logic is that the husband cannot abandon her during pregnancy.

Sure it happens. I have a client who did so. In that case, the wife was pregnant by another man and the judge ensured that the husband was not responsible.
Although it is legal, it is not always advisable. If the husband might not be the biological father, then he would want to wait to have a determination of paternity, otherwise he could be paying child support for 18 years.
