Legal Question in Family Law in Washington
Legal binding document
My wife and I are separating.
Around May time frame she was
looking at houses and I agreed to
give her a certain amount of dollars a
month. I signed a paper saying so. I
meant this until she got on her feet
and finished school. Nothing
happened for a few months. Then
she took the kids and moved out.
Have I screwed myself. Once I
signed it, she would never give it
back.

Re: Legal binding document
The document may be considered a partial separation agreement on spousal maintenance, and may have an effect in your divorce. Generally, spousal maintenance is to be temporary. Without seeing it though, and without knowing more about your marriage, Iwould not want to predict the full effect.
