Legal Question in Family Law in Washington
Legal Separation
I worked with a local attorney to draw up paperwork. My soon to be ex has been draggin his feet and I was told if I have him served, he would need to respond to the serving within 20 days. I was told that there is a form needed that states the ''20 day'' time frame....do you have this form?

Re: Legal Separation
Yes, I do have that form; its public. I would anticipate that the attorney with whom you are working will arrange service of the summons and the complaint.
The form you are referring to is the summons. It is available on line on the forms page of courts dot wa dot gov.
Know that respondents who decide to drag their feet can. Its frustrating. Theory is everybody is entitled to due process until they prove they are not.
Hope this helps. Elizabeth Powell
