Legal Question in Family Law in Washington
I live in Washington and my husband in Texas. We have a Texas marriage license. Can i file for legal separation in Washington and will it be recognized in Texas?

Yes as to filing in WA, though you may not be able to deal with all the property if some is in TX. Yes as to TX recognizing (full faith and credit clause of US Constitution). But if you have children, the jurisdiction of the custody case will be according to the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act (UCCJEA), which has been passed in all states essentially the same. In WA it is found in chapter 26.27 RCW.
