Legal Question in Family Law in Washington
Can Marine Corps lawyers help in a divorce
My daughter married in May of 2008, her husband went to and graduated from Marine Corps boot camp and then went AWOL while in infantry training. After being gone 28 days returned thinking they would kick him out. The docked his pay and sent him back to training, where he has gone AWOL again. Is there some free legal aid the Marines can give my daughter to assist her with her divorce?

I am not sure what your son-in-law's AWOLs have to do with your daughter's divorce. Military Legal Assistance will not help a service member or dependent with a potentially contested civil litigation matter. The level of assistance that Legal Assistance can provide in your daughter's circumstances is that they could advise her on which court to go to, and basic process of doing a divorce in WA and they may have copies of the blank forms available, but she should not expect representation.
