Legal Question in Family Law in Washington
Marriage license.
My fiance and I are planning on getting married next month in the court house and have a little problem. He is stationed in California with the Marines and I live in Washington. We're planning on mailing in our application but are concerned because of the two different states. It says that we need to get it notorized, does it matter that it will be notorized by two different states and that we won't be together when it is done? Also, about how long does it take for the application to go through and get approved?

Re: Marriage license.
You have not made it clear what State you are getting married in. Assuming you are getting married in WA, you should be able to complete filing the application in 3 days, get the license issued and do the 3 day waiting period and get married. You should email the url to your fiance today (16th): http://www.metrokc.gov/lars/marriage/index.htm
to get the form, print it out at his location, fill in his information and sign it before a notary in CA (17th), mail it back to you (17th) , and you go into the KC Courthouse and sign it in the presence of the auditor (or deputy) (19th or 22d), and the license will be issued (19th or 22d) and valid three days from the date of issue (25th). So you have plenty of time before next month if you don't fool around.
