Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

marriage took place in another country. woman claims she filed for divorce in u.s. and remarried in us. however, no document of the divorce was found. this document is needed by the man in order to file an annulment. what recourse does the man have?

I presume in answering this question that WA law applies and that we are not dealing with foreign law or canon law. If you have a divorce you don't need an annulment. If you don't have divorce you can file for an annulment (in WA called a Declaration of Invalidity of Marriage).
