Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

Never Married to Child's Mother

I live in Washington, and have never been married to my little girl's mother. We had plans to marry but we haven't done it yet, and she is starting to threaten to take my daughter and disappear every time she gets mad at me. She is also accusing me of being violent and kicking down doors, both of which are completely untrue. I don't want to lose my little girl, I'm a good father and I love my baby so much. What are the custody and visitation laws in Washington when the parents have never been married? How can I prevent her from taking my daughter and disappearing as she threatens? Please help me.

Re: Never Married to Child's Mother

A big question here is, has paternity been established? If it has you can file a petition to establish a residential schedule (and child support order). If paternity has not been established you should petition to establish paternity (and a residential schedule and child support order).
