Legal Question in Family Law in Washington
modify p.p. because of dangerous situation
My ex-husband and I have 2 daughters 9 and 8. They primarily live with him.(60% of the time). His home has become a volitile situation, with his drinking, spousal abuse of his new wife, and a violent step-child. What can I do to modify the parenting plan quickly, without causing trauma to the children by having them removed by the state? I am very worried about this situation

Re: modify p.p. because of dangerous situation
You can petition to modify the parenting plan, and at the same time set the threshold hearing and a motion for temporary orders. You will probably need more than just your declaration to support your petition and the motion for temporary orders. Ideally, you would have the testimony (declarations or affidavits) of one or more professionals (and perhaps his current spouse) or police reports of domestic violence, to support your petition and motion. I would suggest having all the pieces lined up before you file.
