Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

Modifying Order of Child Support

I completed an Order of Child Support as part of my divorce, but I made a small mistake in reporting my income ($50). The judge approved the divorce, but I would like to correct this error even though it will not affect the amount Im paying. What is the process? Is there an easy way to do this without having to appear back in court?

Re: Modifying Order of Child Support

If the amount does not change any of the results on the child support order, I would not suggest trying to do a modification on the basis of error, as it appears that this is "harmless error."

If you really want to do it, you can prepare corrected copies of all the documents that change, get them signed by both parties, and get the judge to sign them. Depending on what county you are in that may be easy (or harder).
