Legal Question in Family Law in Washington
Moving Out Before age 18.
Can I legally move out of my paretnts house before age 18? I have read different things, but I'm not sure what to believe. I am 17, I will be 18 in April of '09. I want to move out in January and go to school (which is no where near where I live) and my mom is saying no. Can I do anything?!

It may be possible for you to move out if you petition the court for emancipation and can prove to the court that you are capable financially and emotionally of supporting yourself. washingtonlawhelp.org has a very useful handout on emancipation. I suggest you read the handout as your first step.
