moving a case from another state

i am trying to find out how to move my dissolution case from the state of Ohio to my current residence in Washington state, so that the state of Washingonton has jursidiction

If you have a dissolution pending in OH, you can finish it there or you can dismiss it and file a new, Washington divorce in the superior court of the county where you now live.

If you have kids, there are restrictions on your ability to do this. Please contact your county Bar Association and see if they can suggest a lawyer for you to talk to.

WA dissolution forms look like they are written in plain english, but they are filled with terms of art. You can find the forms at courts.wa.gov. But please talk to a local attorney before you file, just in case there are problems with filing that I would notice if we talked, even though you aren't mentioning them here.
