Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

Paid without order now trying to collect

My ex and I have a child together. We were never married and I've paid a

significant amount of child support monthly without an order for the last 4

years. She is now trying to collect back child support based on the amount

that I now have to pay on a monthly basis. Can she demand back payment

when we were never married and since I've paid on a monthly basis since she

moved out? Can I fight this?

Re: Paid without order now trying to collect

No, under Washington law and court cases, your ex cannot claim back child support based upon your current wages, or the amount that you are currently paying. The court is likely not to grant her request.
