Re: ex parte action
I can tell you the definition of an ex parte, but it can can relate to any number of specific actions. So I can not tell you specifically what happened in ex parte without a copy of the document itself. Ex parte is a one-sided contact with the judge or commissioner. There are specific events that are routinely done in ex parte, e.g. in an uncontested dissolution the presentation of agreed decree and findings of fact and conclusions of law, motion for order to show cause re contempt, guardianship annual reports. These are routine, legitimate ex parte matters. As to how to get the document, the best course would be to contact the clerk of the the court for the county the action was done in and ask for a copy of the specific document (there typically will be fee).
