paternity and fathers rights

I have been named as father by a woman who recently gave birth who said she was barron, what rights or recource do I have

It is unclear what you mean by "named as father." It is also unclear what the procedural situation is in this case, i.e. has a petition to establish paternity been filed? In any event if you do not think you are the father, you can deny the allegation. If there is a paternity action filed the next step will be for the court to order genetic testing. The issue of her having told you she was barren is not relevant to your liability to pay child support, as that is a duty to the child.
