Who pays Child Support

If my ex girl friend left our child somewhere and the state took her and asked me to sign my Parental right away but i didn't and later on my child gets adopted by a foster family am I legally responciable to pay Child Support for that child?

If you child is adopted by another family you do not have to pay child support. If the child is just in foster care, the state may seek reimbursement from you for costs of foster care. Children do not get adopted unless both parents have waived parental rights or had a court hearing that terminated their parental rights.
