Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

Post secondary education support

My husband's exwife is taking him to court to pay college tuition on two of his sons. Her and her husband both are self employed and we feel they are not being truthful about their income. My husband also has a daughter that is 16 that he is still supporting with her too. We also have a family of our own w/two kids. They are counting my income. I want to know if we can get a divorce and still live together so they can't count my income.

Re: Post secondary education support

Your income should be disclosed but would not be counted for calculation of his obligation. The way the question is structured about income it requires reporting of income of other adults in the household (not the income of spouse). So divorce is not your solution. Your solution is to focus the obligation on your husband's income.
