Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

Property of ex spouse

I have stored property for over a year of my ex wife's in my posession. How do I legally remove this property from my house? She lives out of state and refuses to remove it.

Re: Property of ex spouse

Unless there is something more to this that is stated in your question, this is really not a family law issue (anymore).

The essence of the problem is you have the property of another person in your possession and you are unsure if it is abandoned, and you want to know how to dispose of it. If it is a relatively small amount of goods, just ship it to her. If it is a large volume/weight send her a letter (I'd recommend using certified mail, with return receipt), tell her if she does not make arrangements to move the property that you will consider it abandoned and that you will dispose of it. I'd give her a reasonable amount of time, e.g. 90 days to take action.
