Protection Orders

My soon to be ex-husband wants to put a restraining order on the man I am seeing, so that he cannot have contact with my daughter. The basis of his claim is from a case that is over 12 years old. Can he do that?

Yes, actually, he can, and I have seen it done. It all depends on the facts of the case at issue, not how long ago it happened.

You'll want to discuss this with your attorney, but complaining that the new significant other has a criminal history can be a very effective tactic in a custody battle.
