Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

How to prove I have sole custody of my son.

I need to prove that I have sole custody of my son. My sons father was just released from prison and is trying to see my son. I fear for his safety. He was seen at my sons school and at the park where my son plays. We were never married and my X-boyfriend is not on my sons birth certificate. Is there a form or paper that I can get to prove I have sole custody?

Don't know if you've gotten your answer yet. I just noticed this on the bulletin board.

You leave out a lot, but the simple answer is that you just need to tell the school that no one is to see your son except those you approve. Tell them the burden is on the father to prove he is the father. Then show them a birth crtificate.

In short, don't let the school put the burden on you.

If they don't cooperate, tell them that you'll sue them if they allow anyone to contact your child. School personnel are usually scared of being sued.
