Legal Question in Family Law in Washington
Relocation Orders
I am the primary custodial parent and our PP is in WA state I am married to a military member and we currently live outside the US, we are going to be moving again to a different country do I have to provide another relocation order and can the biological father object to the move even though we already have a relocation order for the county were currently in. Also would I have to go all the way back to WA for court. My son has lived overseas with me and my husband for two-years with no visitation with his bio-dad. But he wont sign the relocation order. What are my options? I also need a tourist passport that he won't sign for either, we can't travel back home without them and he refuses to sign.

Re: Relocation Orders
Courts will bend over backwards to help custodial parents who are married to persons in the military and stationed overseas.
You need to get a lawyer who can assist you with this. So long as you have access to a computer/fax machine you don't have to personally show up here in court.
The Court can appoint somebody to sign the passport order for the bio-dad if he refuses. Alternatively, the Court can find him in contempt and jail him until he signs the relocation order/passport.
What you need is a very good lawyer. If your case is in Pierce County, contact James Cathcart. Mr. Cathcart spent a number of years in the marines and is now a top-notch family law attorney and he understands the issues you are facing.
You can find any attorney in WA at wsba dot org under the lawyer directory page.
