Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

replying to a summons legally

My ex husband has decided that he wants to sue me again for full custody of our 2 teen age boys. I have not been able to come up with the money for the attorney yet so i have to respond to the summons myself as it is due in 2 days. But I don't know how to do it legally and I don't want to give his attorney anything to use against me in court after I am able to pay the attorney.

File a notice of appearance instead. It does not commit you to an answer, but does assure that he can't get a default without notice.
