Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

Residency for filing in Washington state

I am in the military stationed in VA, but my state of residence is Washington. Can I file for divorce in Washington state without having to actually physically reside there since it is my ''home of record''?

Yes, you can retain an attorney to represent you in the state of Washington or arrange to file the papers yourself, whenever you can get out there and stay long enough to complete the process.

Yes, you can file here in Washington because you are a resident of Washington though temporarily out of the area on military duty. You will have to either do it yourself or hire an attorney here in Washington.
