what are my rights as a father
what are my legal rights as a father. my ex girlfriend and i had a child who is now three, weve been seperated for two years. she is now threatening to take custody away and has hired a lawyer and says the lawyer told her that as i have a past criminal history from 10 years ago that she will have no problem taking custody away. please imform me.

First rule of family law litigation: Don't take legal advice from your ex or her lawyer. They are seeing it from their perspective and want you to give up as quickly as possible because it costs them less time.
Go get your own lawyer.
Lots of criminals have children, and so long as their crimes are not related to abusing children, they have residential time with their children.
Lawyer up, even if it is just for a consult.
