Legal Question in Family Law in Washington
Serving custody papers while my ex has the children in another state and is unre
I recently found out my ex wife lied and has moved my children out of state(Washington) violating our court papers. I filed for custody but do not have any address for her in Washington. I do have her Moms phone number(in Washington) but she wont help me and her previous address here in California is her ex husbands house. What do I need to do to serve her?

Your spouse can be served at her last given address by mail or publication. You will have to show the court that she has moved and not given proper notice and no additional address information. (You do a motion to serve (I assume a contempt citatin or petition for modification of the parenting plan) by mail or publication).

Try calling your county district attorney's office. They should have a child stealing unit and they can help to find your ex. You may need to get an "Order to Locate" from the judge, however, some county DA's no longer require the order. I would suggest that you retain an experienced child custody attorney, it would be most helpful. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
