Sibling Visitation

I live in New Jersey am 26 yrs old and have a minor sister who lives in Washington State. Does the court recognize any rights to visitation between the two of us? We share the same father, but have different mothers. Her mother forbids her from making any contact with me and vice versus.

You can petition for visitation. The factors that will bear the most weight with the court is whether your contact with your younger half-sister is in her best interest and whether you are seeking to maintain an existing relationship with her.
