Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

simply confused

please dont let this ? go for sounding elementary here, but, can one spouse do what ever the other spouse can do? (washington based)., meaning, in decision making, hiring and firing, in their 'self employed -one income only' decisions as in taxes related, or like in buying and selling (whatever), or use a vehicle they have in the driveway? etc.... basically speaking, can one do what the other one does legally?(no children , and married since2001 been lvg together since1998),own house , cars, biz, etc... typical average marriage.... on the outside of it, but a whole new ball game on the inside.no legal papers of anykind signed prior to marring or anything like that. example: one spouse hires person for biz in acct'ing.. the other fires person, isnt this ok or not? in other words , both spouses have the same exact legal rights in that marriage ? or not? if not? what are the exeptions ? why nots? please? marriage is not up for divorce currently neither.

Your question may reflect your confusion. You wrote a confusing question, and in addition to that you did not provide facts about the specific acts or property you want to apply this an answer to. The general answer is that both spouses have equal authority in their marriage, but I suspect you were trying to get to something specific but did not want to provide the specific information, which may well change the answer.
