Re: What to do?

You will have to be married for some time - usually a year - before you can have an adoption finalized. Adoption costs depend on your county and run from $1,500 to $2,500 for an adoption with no special issues. The lawyer takes care of the paperwork. It is fairly difficult to do the adoption without a lawyer. King County and Pierce County courthouses have good court assistance programs for people representing themselves. They might be able to give the help you need if you want to do it on your own.
