Social Security Disability & Divorce Settlement

If a person has a divorce settlement in which half of his income must go to the ex-spouse, but then that person must go on Social Security Disability, are those Social Security Disability payments subject to the terms of the divorce settlment, i.e. half going to the ex-spouse?

You should resubmit this under the Social Security Law category. Social Security law is dispositive and State law can not impose an allocation or distribution that Social Security does not allow.
