Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

Spousal support and community property for second marriage

I have a spousal support settlement from a previous marriage and I'd like to get remarried. Is my support a liability in my new marriage since Washington is a community property state?

No. Though your new spouse's income would be known by the court so that your full circumstances would be known.

The following site should provide some further assistance should you wish to inquire further. In particular, take a look at the child support forms. http://www.courts.wa.gov/forms/

You can locat the statute at my site at http://www.olywa.net/preblelaw/washingt.htm#Forms
