Legal Question in Family Law in Washington
Subpoenas
the non-custodial parent has repeatedly lied about his income, do I need an attorney to subpoena his bank statements? The prosecuting attorney claims there is no funding for him to do this.

There is no requirement under the law for you to have an attorney to subpoena records, but practically you may need one. The process is to subpoena the records custodian to a depoosition, but allow them to respond by sending the records and not have to appear for the deposition. You may also want to apply for support enforcement through DCS. They may be better able to assist you in this matter than a prosecuting attorney's office.
