Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

Teen ''cans'' and ''cants''

ok,i have a friend that lives at home with her single mother. i watch her day by day dwindle and shes contemplating suicide.she is contantly being mentally abused and she wants to move out. me and my parents have agreed on her living with us. i would like to know what she can and cant do about that. Would she be able to move out seeing as she's 17 without being considered a run-away? if not, then what kind of help can she get to help her get out of her house? her mom has tried to seek help and the help has not been a success. This is a constant ongoing thing and i would love to hear from you as soon as possible! thank you for your time.

Your friend should seek services from a mental health professional, risk of suicide would be a first order risk. The mental health professional would also be able to assist in a relocation.

Child Protective Services may be a good source of help if the "abuse" can be documented.

A couple of legal options are available and CPS should be able to help with relocation (if the abuse is provable).

In any event get your friend to see a local professional for assistance.
