Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

timely filing of custody papers

I have custody papers that were signed oct 2002. At the time I had an attorney and thought that he had filed them already. It turns out he didn't. Can I still file these papers or are they void because of the two years they have been sitting in a file at my attorneys office? PLease Help!

Re: timely filing of custody papers

You need to write that attorney a letter and ask him/her precisely what you posted here. Save a copy of the letter, be prepared to send it to the state Bar association. Good luck.
