We would like visitation to see our grandaughter, what do we need to do?

There is no grandparent visitation/residential time as such under the laws of the United States. There is however a provision for de facto parent visitation/residential time based on an established relationship of value to the child. This is complicated law and needs a careful development of the fact situation to effect it. The case that set out the basic frame on this issue is Carvin v. Britain.
