Wedding Rings
Why is it that upon dissolution/annulment of a marriage of less than 18 months or less that the opposite spouse gets to keeps the wedding rings?

I am not sure in the context of your question who the opposite spouse is relative to who gave the rings to whom. The case law does not take a position on who gets the rings without condition. I.e. the case law takes other factors into consideration in allocating the rings.
