Legal Question in Family Law in Washington
Wife has credit cards in her name only, can I be held responsible for her debt?
We have been married over two years and my wife secretly opened up credit card accounts in her name. She has charged thousands of dollars on the cards. Will I be held liable for them when we divorce? I brought her here on a K-2 Fiancee Visa. She will have to go back to her home country when we divorce. Will this have any effect on my liability for her debit? Thanks

You will be fighting an uphill battle trying to get clear of liability on those credit cards in a community property state.
