Re: borrowed a friends borrowed car

Yes, you are responsible for the damage to your friend's mother's car. You might want to get out your insurance policy and see whether or not you are covered when you are operating somebody else's car or not.

Your friend's mother can sue you for the damage to her car; if you are covered by insurance be sure to contact your agent and ask for help.

An auto insurance policy is basically pre-paid legal insurance to defend you against lawsuits arising out of driving cars.

The mom's having a new car is irrelevant.

If you can prove that the daughter trashed your car (you should call the cops and file a police report) you can sue her - the daughter- for the damage to your car. Her logic is also irrelevant - two wrongs don't make a right.

Good luck. Powell
