Moving Company Fraud
My friend moved from New York to Washington recently. The mover she hired in New York took a deposit and payment from her. They loaded her goods into a truck and, a few days later, her goods arrived in Seattle. The movers arrived at her home three days later than originally promised and the goods were delivered over one week later than promised. At that time, the driver of the truck demanded almost $2000.00 CASH or money order to unload her goods. She could pay ''right now'' or reschedule her delivery and pay additional fees. She paid and got her things (Damaged but accounted for) Does she have any remedy for this extra cost and poor service? The moving company will not return her calls and when I call and then give her the phone, they give her a runaround and then hang up on her.

You need to take this to the Attorney General in Washington right now. Moving company fraud is gross. Call the AG's office.
