Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Washington

Small Water Association

We belong to a water association that is using unfair practices of enforcement of their bylaws. It is a 5 member board with 1 member (secretary) in control. Others seem to be afraid to disagree with her. This party & husband have abused our water bylaws for many, many years and the board has knowlege of this and has failed to assess fines that are in the bylaws. Our domestic water was shut off for a full weekend in May of this year due to late payments. Lived here 26 years.....water has always been paid. We feel we are being singled out. Do we have any rights and/or a suit?

Thank You.

Re: Small Water Association

I don't know whether you have a basis for a suit or not from the information you provided. It's just too general. The big question of course is what you can prove is going on.

You need to check with your county's bar association for a referral to a local attorney who can address your questions and assess your likelihood of success.

When you go to meet and talk with that lawyer, bring documentation with you that demonstrates what is happening with your water association.

Best of luck with this.
