Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Washington

threatning neighbor

I live on a private paved road. I have a neighbor who feels he must patrol the road and intimidate motorist who he feels are driving to fast. To the point of stopping them and pounding on their hoods, cussing and intimidating them. What can I do to stop him.

Seek a civil order limiting his behavior. Our WA member firm can probably assist you in this.

Re: threatning neighbor

Mr. Nance is right. Go to your closest district court and ask for an anti-harassment order.

This is one of the very few areas of law where you do not need counsel. The forms are self-explanatory.

You need to explain to the court that this has happened more than once - dates, times, places are very helpful. You need to explain that you feel intimidated and that your neighbor's conduct serves no useful purpose.

If you cannot pay the fee, ask for a fee waiver.
