Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Washington

Violation of Court Order

I have just been served with court papers accusing me of violating a court order in relation to a non-compete judgement against me. What is the worst case scenerio for me ? A fine ? Extension of Court Order ? Both ? Is there a ''cap'' on a fine ?

Re: Violation of Court Order

The worst case scenario for you is that you are fined for violating a court order, which can also expose you to the danger of being jailed for violating a court order.

WA does not recognize exemplary or punitive damages. But Courts here do award reasonable attorney fees and costs, and the word 'reasonable' in this context, is laughable.

You really need to find a local attorney who deals with this. Eileen Lawrence in Seattle would be my recommendation.

Hope that helps. Elizabeth Powell
