I am a F-1 student and I have been married for one year. Can I apply for a green card through my wife while she is applying for her citizenship?

Hi,

Your wife can sponsor you in the family-based 2nd preference category ( F2A category), but you cannot yet obtain your green card on this basis as the priority date is not current: www.h1b1.com/sponsor.htm

As soon as your wife becomes a citizen, the appropriate sponsorship paperwork can be filed, enabling you to obtain resident status.
