Illegal immigrant
I want to help my illegal friend become a U.S citized. She entered illegally from El Salvador and has a child born in the U.S. Is an upstanding member of society. Her homeland is not safe.

There are a number of options available. If she has family that have status we can apply through them (parents, siblings, children over 21), or if she has a skilled or managerial job. Either way she'll need to apply for a waiver to her unlawful entry and likely adjust her status in her home country. Also, if her homeland is not safe she may be able to claim refugee status if she is threatened due to a protected trait--like religion or politics.
