Legal Question in Immigration Law in Washington
Marriage and working... more details, please.
I would like to get married to my boyfriend who came to the US from Japan with a student Visa. It ran out a long time ago, and I learned that to help him get residency I can marry him and fill out an I-130. Then after two years he can gain residency??
I would like to know how to go about this, and how long it would be after we got married for him to be able to work.

If you are a US citizen and marry him it may help him in obtaining his green card. However, given the circumstances you should speak in detail to an immigration attorney before proceeding. If you would like you may contact my office as well.
