Legal Question in Immigration Law in Washington

Naturalization Process

I can start to apply for naturalization in approximately 2 years and noticed when I was looking into the process that you need to supply dates that you left the USA for more than 24 hours during the previous 5 years as part of the application. I have family in Canada that I visit frequently since I live close to the border and I have not kept track of every date that I have visited them for a weekend. I have started keeping track of this but what should I do about the past 3 years? I know some dates for sure but others I could estimate/guess at. Would this be a problem if I guessed incorecctly? I wouldn't want my application denied because I forgot to include a date or put an incorrect date on my application. Is there any way for the Gov't to verify these dates?

Re: Naturalization Process

Hello, I am in a border city also and normally we just add a sheet saying that there were numerous weekend or day visits which we cannot recall all just some but in no case were we out for more than 6 months at a time. (of course, that must be accurate) If you were out for more than 6 months total in a twelve month period, you might have an issue. Please contact us by email if you have any questions.
