Legal Question in Immigration Law in Washington
If a person was born on foriegn soil, and had one parent born a US Citizen, but grew up away from that parent, but was a legal permanant resident of the US, could that person still be considered a US Citizen by birth right?

Yes. However, citizenship by descent may depend on how long your U.S. citizen parent resided in the U.S. prior to your birth. Check with an immigration lawyer in your area. They can determine fairly quickly whether your qualify. There is no necessity that you reside with the U.S. citizen parent.
