Legal Question in Insurance Law in Washington

3 Years almost up - Settlement Offer Low

My 3 years to settle or get a lawyer is up in April - considered 50% at fault, the person who hit me was driving someone elses car. Their insurance is offering me 4000 but only willing to pay half (2000). My insurance closed my med. claim without even telling me so anytime I go I have to pay out of pocket. They said going on an as needed basis is considered maintenance. They have changed adjusters about 3 or 4 times - I can't get ahold of anyone. Do I have time to get an attorney, do I even stand a chance with these two insurance companies. If I don't get an attorney - does my insurance have to pay the other half of the settlement? My hip was injured very bad and I was only 20 at the time - now I have permanent hip problems (sometimes I can hardly get out of a chair when I have a flare up).

We would be happy to help and would file suit immediately if the statute of limitations has not expired. Please call me as soon as possible. It sounds like you sustained a serious injury and have not received a fair offer.

Hello, Ryan. The hassle you're getting from the insurance companies is NOT at ALL unusual, I'm afraid. You USUALLY need a lawyer, it seems, when you're making an injury claim, because the insurance companies are SO underhanded.

You likely CAN find a lawyer who would be willing to file suit for you, and to continue represent you as well. My friend MARTY FOX, in the United Airlines building, in downtown Seattle, is a terrific and very experienced (about 30 yrs) personal injury lawyer. I've sent my OWN family there, if that's any testament to his skills.

BEST OF LUCK to you!

Sam
