Legal Question in Insurance Law in Washington
Yacht Policy Exclusions
I chose Insurance Law but am not really sure if this case might not fall under Admiralty Law as well. What I need to know, is where on the Internet can I go to research denied claims as they relate to yacht insurance. The insurance company claims that the leaking fuel tanks were caused by galvanic corrosion and that this was the result of manufacturer's defect. Perhaps the cost of replacing the tanks might not be covered, but the resulting damage, in my opinion, should be covered. As this was a costly endeavor out of pocket, I thought I would do a little research and see what I can come up with. I would really like to come up with a case close to mine. Any suggestions as to where I could start looking? I have done some preliminary searching but nothing specific enough has been found.

Maritime Insurance Coverage Denial
Marine insurers are notorious for denying claims. The question is one of policy interpretation in light of maritime law. There is nowhere on the internet to do comprehensive research on this sort of issue, although the supreme court cases and some recent federal appellate cases are on line (try www.findlaw.com). As these policies do differ, it is important to have a lawyer familiar with such issues review it. I have litigated marine insurance coverage issues, so feel free to call me.
